University in Brescia. He entered the pro world a few weeks ago during a training camp in Spain. His first official event from tomorrow in Holland at European track champions. Everything else later. She's grown up. Federica Venturelli, who started 2024 perfectly suited to the role (opening photo K13/Luis Solana).
And this week he won't miss a thing. He'll use his energy not only for pedaling, but also for blowing out the candles on his birthday cake. The Cremonese of the UAE Development Team will celebrate its 19th anniversary on Friday at the Apeldoorn velodrome., before she can fully concentrate on the discipline that the coach has assigned her Villa. The individual pursuit will take place on Sunday 14th January, where she was already continental and world champion in both her junior seasons. Between one commitment and another, we managed to hear Venturelli, now well versed in the puzzles of her personal "Tetris"and she's always good at explaining everything she does.

Federica, you don't even have time to realize you've moved up to the elite category before an important race awaits you.
That's right, even though I wasn't sure about doing them at first, it wasn't in the plans. We decided this about a month agoWhen I returned from the team retreat, I went to Montichiari to work with the other girls. I tried to improve my condition and also my understanding with my teammates in the quartet rehearsals., which I won't do though.
What do you expect from that test?
In the meantime, I'm leaving knowing that it will be longer and more difficult to manage. For juniors the individual pursuit is two kilometres, while for elites it is three, so half an extra race to doIt will be a new kind of effort for me. Medals or placings aren't the focus (smiles, ed.). The goal at the moment is to gain experience and try to achieve a good performanceI've also improved in my so-called performance anxiety, because I've understood that the race is the only time when the work done in training is put into practice. I think I prepared myself well, so I'm calm and tense enough.. Certainly, being already at the European Elite Championships in the Olympic year is a source of great pride for me. Then, obviously, I hope to go strong and qualify for the next rounds.

How did you find yourself with the senior Italian team?
Very good (he replies beaming, ed.). I'm very happy with how they welcomed me. I thought it would be harder, but you can immediately see that it's a close-knit group.. With Chiara (agree, ed.) there was a little more confidence because we were together at the retreat UAE, but all the girls gave me advice.
So, how did the training camp in Spain with your new club go?
That was also very good. Both the first team and us from the second team were in the same hotel. We obviously trained separately, but for meetings and dinners we were together. In fact, at the table we always sat mixed together to encourage everyone to get to know each other. we had the opportunity to compete with the most experienced athletes and it is an important aspect to be able to improve.
Among the girls in the first team, who did you relate to most?
As I said before about Consonni, I already knew Silvia well (Perch, ed.) for cyclocross. She has always been my reference, also for the leap in quality it has made in recent years. I must say, however, that they struck me a lot bertizzolo e Magnaldi for their strong personalityWhen I get the chance, I'd like to get to know them better to get their perspectives.

Any other details?
All the girls are very precise in their diet. I understood that a good performance starts here. Overall, I immediately noticed a great attention to detail, the great organization behind it, and the more intense training sessions. And then I was very impressed by being assessed by the team's physiotherapist.I've never had a screening like this before. I find it very interesting.
What does Federica Venturelli's racing program include?
My schedule is busy, including the University where I have to attend. (She's enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy in Brescia, ed.). I couldn't leave the practice because I like it and I need it, but to tell the truth, I have no idea how I'll manage to reconcile everything (she smiles, ed.). Jokes aside, I'll be putting together the team's calendar, but there might also be races with the national team, both in the Nations Cup on the track and on the road with the U23s. I know we'll get the chance to race with the WorldTour team, but I don't know when, given all these commitments. Finally, there's cyclocross. There is a World Cup hypothesis, provided that the call-up arrives, but first there would also be the World Cup test in Benidorm in mid-January.

Have you set any goals for this season?
I would like to point out that the choice of Going to a devo team was also necessary to gain a better awareness of the commitment between studying and cyclingComing from the junior category, I knew they were two totally different worlds and I saw it immediately. Until last year I was an athlete who did a bit of everything on the road, but this year I don't think so. For example, I will do longer stage races than the two-three day ones as a junior. I will have the opportunity to understand what my limits are everywhere. After all, I'm a girl who doesn't like to sit around doing nothing...
