At the finish line in Schoten, at the end of the Scheldeprijs under yet another snowfall, Martina Fidanza he had a devil in his hairFour days later, on that of Civitanova Marche, the woman from Bergamo who became a bit from the Marche region out of love, has found a way to smileBehind him in the sprint of the Born to Win Trophy were Letizia Paternoster (another survivor of the Belgian challenge) and Alessia Michieletti, then Zanardi, Barbieri, Magri, Carbonari and the rest of an important finishing order.

Why were you so disappointed in Belgium?
Because in the last few kilometers between all those trains it was absolute chaos. I thought I was in good shape for the sprint, I had good legs and instead I remained closedIf in the morning, with that cold and wind, they had told me that I would come in 23rd, maybe I would have even been happy. But having the legs to play it and not being able to do it…
What about yesterday?
I was feeling good. Aside from the Binda Trophy, which I reached with only a few races under my belt, I felt like I was improving. And the Civitanova sprint was linear and correct, with the team giving me a big handMaybe my last train companion left me a little too early, so I had to leave late. But I had some, and it went well.
Some of your national teammates complained that in their first road races the track work weighed them down a bit.
I don't know if it was burdened, but the work was certainly felt and in the long run it did good. Probably the distance was missing, which is coming as the races go on. On the track, you work at a very high intensity, often outside of your limits, but for short periods of time. After two or three races, I unlocked myself.
Is the team growing well together with its captain?
We're doing very well (smiles, ed.). At the beginning of the season, Baroni and Realini who came from the cross moved very wellYesterday, Francesca also won the intermediate sprint classification. But now we're coming out on top. Gasparini, Eremita, Pisciali are also good... We're getting there. There is a lot of work behind it to build the group which is starting to bear fruit.

Upcoming races?
On the track from 16th to 18th April, with the national team, at Belgian Open Track meetingThen I'll race again in the Marche region in Corridonia and then there should be the Giro di Campania. In the meantime, between one race and another, I will continue to go to Montichiari for two days a week. And finally, at the beginning of the summer, there will be the Giro Rosa, although I have no idea of the stages.
We don't talk about the higher objective out of superstition, but it's easy to understand that as the weeks go by the approach to the Olympics will become more pressingThe next issue to resolve will be participation in the World Cup in Hong Kong from May 13th to 16th. This would be the best way to get to the European Championships at the end of June. In the Olympic year, there is a risk of arriving in Tokyo without the necessary information on the opponents. And it won't be easy at all.
