The weekend of 22 23-October scorso allowed an event to take place – succeeded – organized by Fisioradi Pesaro Medical CenterA meeting we also had the opportunity to attend in person.
Mental strength is the driving force of success…
The “first half” of this two-day event organized by Maurizio Radi, who is the owner of the Fisioradi Medical Center, brought dozens of cycling enthusiasts to the new structure of the centre. But not only that, to listen to Mental Coach Zico Pieri. “Mental strength to win in life and in sports”: this is the title of the evening which once again put the spotlight on great initiative “Stelvio Unlimited” that Zico Pieri himself brought to completion last summer.
What was it about? For thirty days – from June 17th to July 17th – Pieri has always climbed the same climb consecutively. Not just any one, but the legendary one that leads from Bormio to the Stelvio Pass at an altitude of 2.757 meters. 21,5 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 1.532 meters.
«Thirty days of total immersion in search of my physical and mental potential – he himself confided to us – without constraints, in complete freedom and in full connection with natureI cycled every day, leaving around 4 a.m. and returning late at night. Dinner, ice, a massage, and off to bed for a sleep that never lasted more than four hours. For my venture I was able to count on a friend who immediately believed in the project and who actually supported me greatly.I'm talking about Daniele Schena, the owner of the Hotel Funivia in Bormio and better known as Stelvio Man: without a doubt the best expert on King Stelvio in the world."
Appointment to be repeated
The second part of the event was spent… on bicycles: just how the Fisioradi staff likes it. Morning appointment at the parking lot of the brand new medical center, now in the Pesaro district of Vismara, and then off you go “at a leisurely pace” along the seafront roads and then inland between Marche and RomagnaAn important opportunity, offered to all those who participated in the meeting the previous evening, to be able to exchange a few words with the ever-available Zico on a delicate and very current topic such as mental strengthUpon returning, a rich buffet awaited and… satisfied all those who spent the morning cycling.
