MISANO ADRIATICO – Where do mechanics originate? If bicycles are now incredibly concentrated electronics, Is running enough to be able to keep them in order? Nowadays, even the most experienced professionals, aside from a little cleaning, are careful not to get their hands on it and turn to the team's technicians. It is no coincidence that they also asked themselves this question in RMS, which for 40 years has distributed some of the most important cycling brands in Italy and has seen it rapidly evolve towards extreme sophistication (the Misano group is pictured in a photo from their Instagram profile). Their response was consistent: Mechanics aren't born on trees, we'd better start training them ourselves. It is no coincidence that their slogan is: the best partner for those who repair bicycles.
Italian Bike Festival was like this the opportunity to meet one of the “Professional Bike Mechanics” trained by Bike Technical Hub by RMSA professional technical center that provides training with the RMS Academy and technical assistance. And since October will be the month in which the courses will resume, we thought it would be interesting. talk about it with Stefano Aresi, Managing Director of the Bike Academy, and with Giuseppe Strozza who faced and passed the course.

A 100-hour course
About the training service we already told you about itThe training calendar for professionals will open on October 13th, while The 100-hour course to become a professional mechanic will start again on October 28th at the Bovisio Masciago office..
«For two years now – explains Aresi – we have introduced this service which deals with training or updating the skills of professionals or bring into the sector young people who want to enter as professional mechanicsFor those who already do it professionally, we offer a wide range of training courses, covering a variety of topics, from wheels to suspensions to e-bikes. We exclusively manage courses for brands like Bosch, TQ, Magura, Cane Creek, and others. For those looking to enter the sector, there is strong demand from both the supply and demand sides. So we created a 100-hour training course that takes place over 13 days over the course of a month.».
For now, out of 20 students who participated in the RMS courses, 15 landed in the world of work, with the understandable satisfaction of Aresi and his staff.

The student Giuseppe Strozza
One of them, we were saying, is Giuseppe Strozza, a Milanese who has raced mountain bikes in the past In recent years, he has worked in the restaurant industry as operations manager for various businesses in Lombardy. However, when he decided to change his life, he started with the 100-hour RMS course.
«I took part in this course – he explains in the confusion of the fair – because I wanted to try an experience in a different sector from the one I have worked in for many years and enter the world of cycling that has always fascinated me. I found it very challenging, but also suitable for both beginners and those who perhaps already have some knowledge of mechanicsFor example, I used to race mountain bikes and I've always taken care of my bikes. I already had some experience, but now my approach is definitely much more professional. I had to really study. There weren't any topics that really put me in difficulty, but some aspects needed more attentionElectronic transmissions are still much more difficult to deal with, but with the right lessons and practice we were able to handle any problem. With this skill, my horizon could be to become a professional mechanic or in any case look for something in the world of bike economy».

DT Swiss warranty from January
It was enough to look around to realize at the same time that The RMS Academy is a drop in the ocean of products and materials distributed by RMS and which made the large stand a haven for hundreds of enthusiasts and industry professionals. This was certainly also due to the fact that, due to an unusual crossroads of trends, the Lombardy company's stand was the freshest at IBF.
«The second service that we always offer to professionals in the sector – continues Stefano Aresi – is technical assistance on suspensions, wheels and e-bikes, for which we are the official warranty center for the TQ brand. For suspensions we are a multi-brand assistance centerWe handle the warranty for Suntour and Cane Creek throughout Italy, but we also support Fox, Rock Shox, Ohlins, and several other brands. On the wheel front, there's some exciting news that's great news for us. Namely, From January 1st we will be the official warranty center and reference for DT Swiss stores throughout Italy».
