Three special outfits
Thanks to the collaboration of some Scottish designers, Santini today designs three outfits that tell the beauty of Glasgow and Scotland., called for the first time in its history to host the cycling world championships.
There are two sets dedicated to road cycling. These are the Cloudscape kit and the complete City Grid kit respectively.The first was created by Scottish designers O Street and celebrates Scotland's breathtaking landscapes, with its green forests and mountain profiles reflected in the lakes. The City Grid set, created with designer Patrick Hughes, plays on various shades of blue and green and recalls some of Glasgow's architectural forms. The Cloudscape set features a shirt, shorts, baselayer and accessories, while City Grid also includes a vest and a windproof and rainproof jacket.
Since this year's World Championship will include not only road, but also track and mountain bike riding, here's a specific kit for the off-road world: the Rocky kit. It is made with Scottish designers Fourtwentyseven and Stuco, and is inspired by the Glentress forest, very famous for its MTB trails, with a design that recalls the woods, in green and brown colours.
A new UCI collection
The Scottish World Championships were the starting point for Santini to create a new collection UCI, in confirmation of a relationship now strongly consolidated between the Bergamo-based company and the institution that governs cycling at a global level.
In addition to replicas of the UCI world champion's jerseys in all disciplines and the jerseys for the Women's cycling's World Tour, several summer and winter garments identified by the rainbow stripes have been created.
Santini He also created a capsule collection called Grandi Campioni, which is part of the new UCI collection. It is made up of five outfits inspired by the posters created for some of the world championships that have made cycling history.On the back of the jersey, there's a patch detailing the event. The World Championships celebrated by the new Santini kits are: Salò 1962, Imola 1968, Barcelona 1973, Goodwood 1982 and Colorado Springs 1986.
