For many enthusiasts, every new Colnago bicycle is a work of art that embodies the best of true Made in Italy.
The Cambiago-based company has always been in the spotlight thanks to the many technical innovations it has introduced to the market, which have paved the way for other brands to follow. Among the distinctive features of every new Colnago bicycle there is certainly also the livery, always unique and original. The one created by Motoki Yoshio for a limited edition of the new model will certainly also be talked about a lot. Colnago C68.

Japanese heart, Milanese spirit
Motoki Yoshio was born in Japan in 1975, but has lived in Italy since 1997. After graduating in Transportation Design from the IED in Turin in 2001, He obtained a master's degree in Transportation-Interface Design at the IED in Madrid. He joined Pininfarina in 2002 and worked for Motorola in Miami from 2005 to 2006. Since 2011, he has been a freelancer in Milan, where he currently lives. He has won several international design awards, including an IF Gold Award and a Good Design Award. He was also selected as a judge for the Compasso d'Oro award in Italy in 2018.
Today Motoki Yoshio has decided to use his talent to create a special livery for the Colnago C68.
Respect and Harmony
These are the key words of the project starring Motoki Yoshio together with Colnago. Respect for the tradition and quality of the Colnago C series and Armonia in highlighting and making the parts that make up the frame coexist.
Motoki Yoshio himself underlines it: «Harmony also means pleasure, balance, what I would like you to feel when pedaling this bike. When you are on a bike, you are in deep harmony with the context, those who pedal live a unique experience, just as a design becomes unique when it is in perfect harmony with the product".

The colors follow the frame
The design of the color scheme of the livery designed by Motoki Yoshio for the Colnago C68 starts from an analysis of the frame's geometry and the intersections of the parts it is composed of. The different colours are in fact arranged following the lines of the frame joints. They are a tribute to the tradition of the Colnago C line. An iconic product, the ultimate expression of Italian carbon craftsmanship. The C68 represented a turning point in the C series, abandoning the sharp edges of the lugs in favor of wrapped inserts. Motoki Yoshio's challenge was also this: to maintain and underline the C identity on a frame with more innovative shapes.
In a first phase, the Japanese designer traced the lines of the frame components and associated them with strong colours, as typically happens in the design phase. The nuances came later, to give even more harmony and highlight the main components even better..
All Colnago C68 special edition models will be fitted with Campagnolo EPS groupset and wheelset Bora Ultra WTO, tires Pirelli and Selle Italia saddle, completing a full-Italian look.
