A few days ago on bici.STYLE we told you about the passion for cycling of Mattia Casse. The Italian Alpine Ski team is still in the midst of its competitive season, even though the focus can only be on the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. Despite this, Casse is working on a project related to cycling, but above all with a charitable purpose, as he told us during our interview. In June Mattia will participate in the 24 Hours of Feltre leading a team of sporting friends made up of professional skiers and cyclists, united by the common goal of raising funds for a truly important purpose.

“Six hundred heartbeats for the NICU”

This is the name of the project promoted by Mattia Casse. It is a charitable initiative, born thanks to the commitment of Perform Sport Medical Center and Pedaling for Life, aimed at supporting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo. The goal is to raise funds for the purchase of a thermal cot to be donated to the Association for Help to the Newborn.

Mattia Casse himself describes, in simple yet powerful terms, the spirit of this commendable initiative, which he spearheads: "This initiative is a concrete opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many children and their families. Even the smallest contribution can become a fundamental resource to ensure cutting-edge care and ever-improving assistance."

We ride in a group

Mattia Casse is not alone in realizing his project, having found the support of a group of true "friends," starting with Santini Cycling, who chose to stand alongside Casse himself.

«With Mattia we found a common energy right from the first meeting – declared Paola Santini, Marketing Manager of Santini Cycling – We are proud to support him in this adventure., certain that the combination of cycling and skiing can inspire positive and inclusive values."

In addition to Santini, Mattia Casse will be able to count on the support of Zerosbatti, the non-profit organization that has been supporting cyclists since 2017, providing immediate assistance and legal protection in the event of an accident and promoting road safety and the rights of vulnerable road users, including cyclists and motorcyclists. Its leader is Attorney Federico Balconi, who commented on his organization's involvement with Mattia Casse: "From our passion for sport and skiing, a strong connection was immediately born with Mattia and when he presented us his charity project, created to support the Neonatal Ward of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, we embraced the initiative without hesitation and joined the team. We are confident that this collaboration is just the beginning of a journey where cycling and skiing meet, uniting our two great passions with noble goals.

The next initiatives

Mattia Casse's project for Six Hundred Heartbeats for the NICU will be preceded by a Charity Dinner to be held on April 4, 2025 in Bergamo. It will be an opportunity to meet the Director of the Neonatal Department of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital, the Newborn Aid Association, supporters and donors.

During the evening, race memorabilia donated by top-level athletes will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to support the fundraiser.

In the coming weeks, Mattia Casse will announce the names of the team members who will join him at the 24 Hours of Feltre.
