MVC Group strengthens its presence in Northern Europe and accelerates its international growth strategy. The Italian group, a leading player in the technical clothing sector for cycling and outdoor sports, has announced the acquisition of Wolvenberg, historic distributor of the brands Castelli and Sportful in the Benelux area.
The transaction marks a key step in MVC Group's strategy. The acquisition creates MVC Benelux, the Group's ninth foreign subsidiary, designed to directly guide the development of the two brands in one of the most mature and important markets for European cycling. The new company will be led by Christof Bergmans, former Commercial Director of Wolvenberg, appointed Benelux Country Head.
The Benelux region has always been a strategic territory for cycling. A region with a strong sporting tradition, a deep-rooted bike culture and a constant evolution of consumption models. In this context, MVC Group has chosen to adopt a more direct and integrated distribution model, capable of responding more efficiently to the needs of stores, partners and end consumers.

Ambitious goals
MVC Group closed 2025 with revenues exceeding 110 million euros. With the birth of MVC Benelux, the declared objective is ambitious but concrete: exceed €10 million in annual turnover in the Benelux region by 2028, thanks to brands alone Castelli e Sportful, maintaining double-digit growth year-on-year.
The new operating structure will allow the Group to fully seize the opportunities offered by a global cycling apparel market estimated at approximately $2,5 billion. A sector expected to grow steadily, with an annual rate of around 6% until 2030, driven by the growing popularity of cycling as a sport, lifestyle and sustainable means of transport.

A global group
According to Emilio Foà, CEO of MVC Group, the agreement represents a natural evolution of a historic partnership. Wolvenberg has built a solid and valuable presence over time for Castelli and Sportful in BeneluxOn this basis, this company intends to accelerate brand development, maintaining the quality of service and strengthening its relationship with the market.

The acquisition of Wolvenberg is part of a broader international expansion effort. Only recently, through Zoot Sport, MVC Group announced the acquisition of Tailwind Brands GmbH, the brand's European distributor, with the aim of further strengthening its presence on the continent.
Founded in 1946 by the Cremonese family, MVC Group is now a global group. It is present in 75 countries, with nine branches and approximately 500 employees.. Next to Castelli e Sportful, the portfolio also includes Karpos for outdoor and Zoot for triathlon.
