For the third year in a row, Pedalando per la Ricerca, the wonderful charity initiative conceived and promoted by Alessandro Mucci, returns. Also this year the sponsor of the event will be Nalini, a brand for which Alessandro himself holds the role of Social Media Manager. The aim of the initiative is once again to raise funds for the AIRC foundation for cancer research..

Touched deeply
Pedalando per la Ricerca was born from a personal experience that deeply touched Alessandro Mucci. In early 2020, his mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, from which, fortunately, she later recovered. Driven by a strong desire to do something for research, Alessandro decided to get personally involved. For his degree in Economics and Business, he planned to independently travel first through the earthquake-stricken areas of central Italy and then through the Western Alps. He then decided to turn his trip into an awareness-raising effort for research, combined with a fundraiser. At the end of his journey he managed to collect 10.000 euros to donate to theAIRC.
Last year, the initiative was repeated, even tripled. First, a 300-kilometer ride from Milan to Sanremo. Subsequently, the crossing of the territories of Friuli Venezia Giulia hit by the 1976 earthquake with 615 kilometers traveled and 13.500 meters of altitude differenceThe final chapter was participation in the Venice Marathon. The final result was a total of €7.000, donated to AIRC.

The words of Alessandro Mucci
To learn more about the 2022 edition of Pedalando per la Ricerca, we decided to speak directly with Alessandro Mucci.
«The 2022 edition of Pedalando per la Ricerca – he tells us – is scheduled between August 26th and 27th, departing in the evening from Genoa and arriving the following day in Riccione where we will be guests of the Gran Fondo Squali – Trek organizing committee. This will be a 400-kilometer ride that will ideally connect the aquariums of the two cities by pedaling. We will initially follow the eastern coast to Chiavari. From there, we will cross the Bocco Pass to reach Emilia Romagna, heading towards Parma, from where we will follow the Via Emilia to Cattolica. Also on this occasion we will cross territories, those of central Italy, affected by the earthquakeThis year, in addition to raising awareness about cancer prevention, we want to highlight the water crisis and marine pollution."

Nalini's contribution
Nalini once again played a key role in Alessandro's fundraising project, actively participating in the initiative. A special jersey was created for Alessandro and his travel companions for the occasion. This is a customized version of the New Seoul Jersey, one of Nalini's top-of-the-range productsIt has a race fit and is made of microfibre fabric with a quick-drying treatment that guarantees maximum results in terms of lightness and breathability. The set-in sleeve allows for maximum comfort, with a raw cut for a wide freedom of movementThe jersey is paired with bib shorts and, above all, a windproof vest that will be very useful when descending from the Bocco Pass at night.
But Nalini didn't stop at making the jersey; they went even further. A portion of online sales from September and October will be donated to the fundraising initiative promoted by Alessandro himself.
