A true national team. Or rather: an international squadron that brings together across the board the "monster" number of 55 WorldTour riders and another 10 belonging to professional teams. Runners and champions of the caliber of Vincenzo Nibali, Jonathan Milan, Matteo Sobrero, Greg Van Avermaet, Jakob Fuglsang, Dylan Groenewegen, Alberto Rui Costa, Sebastian Molano, Victor Campenaerts, Thomas de Gendt, Pavel Sivakov, Omar Fraile, Joe Dombrowski and Pierre Rolland: all united this year by a single brand that supplies shoes to all of them. And this brand, which is very Italian, it's called Nimbl.

To better understand the dizzying growth of this new brand that is presented online at an international level – but which has its heart and above all artisan production in the Marche region – we took advantage of a visit to the company, in Porto Sant'Elpidio in the middle of global quality footwear district, to have a chat with one of the project's creators: Francesco Sergio, who is a partner of Nimbl and is operationally responsible for marketing.

So Francesco, Nimbl's impact on the professional world has been truly disruptive…

Yes, that's right. And we're really excited about what we've achieved in these first few weeks of racing. There was no shortage of important victories and very positive feedback from the riders. And both things give us extreme confidence for the future. A future, that of the coming months, which we have already designed and which It will be characterized by extremely interesting and qualitatively very important product launches. As in the spirit of Nimbl.

Tell us how the Nimbl project was born

Nimbl was born just in 2018. At a dinner with my current Dutch partner Robert. We were both looking for a new entrepreneurial stimulus, of a project with an international scope that could be based on an extreme quality of the product and on marketing dynamics that could literally make it take offFrom that idea, we began exploring the sector of technical cycling footwear and subsequently identified a small Italian manufacturing excellence – represented by Luigino Verducci – which we acquired.

The craftsmanship of the product is an essential point

This is exactly a crucial point of Nimbl's business. It all starts from the absolute craftsmanship in the production process of our cycling shoesThe finest materials available on the market today are hand-assembled at our two factories in Porto Sant'Elpidio: in the Fermo area and in the heart of the world's high-quality footwear district. A few weeks ago we also activated our own internal line for the production of carbon fiber soles., so as to be independent and at the same time be able to further develop our projects. We are BOA partners, and many professional riders with whom we collaborate have already come to visit us at our headquarters… This was the case for Vincenzo Nibali, for example, or for Greg Van Avermaet or Jonathan MilanLuigino Verducci was waiting for them, and he made plaster casts for their personalized shoes. It was a sight to behold.

And what's cooking for the future?

We will soon be presenting (by the way, you can also buy our Nimbl shoes online…) some footwear models that will be truly unique on the market in terms of weight/stiffness ratioWe already have them ready, we're testing them thoroughly. In this respect too, the privileged relationship we have with this large and qualified group of professionals is extremely helpful.
