Novo Nordisk Health Partners with the 2025 Italian Regions' Cup

The fight against chronic non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases, It involves promoting healthy lifestyles, a balanced diet and physical activityIt is with this mission that Novo Nordisk strengthens its commitment by becoming Health Partner of Italian Regions' Cup 2025, the cycling competition that unites the best Italian and international teams. The initiative is promoted by Professional Cycling League in collaboration with the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.

The involvement of Novo Nordisk is part of the global program “Cities for Better Health”, born over a decade ago with the aim of improving the quality of life in cities through targeted health prevention strategies. In Italy, the project is being implemented thanks to a partnership between ANCI, the Health City Institute, and Novo Nordisk. consolidating itself as one of the most advanced initiatives at international level in the study of the determinants of health urbana.

The health village

During the 21 stages of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni, the Novo Nordisk Health Village will be set up, an area dedicated to raising awareness and preventing chronic diseases. Here, the population will be able to participate in cardio-metabolic screenings, meetings with healthcare experts, educational activities for young people, and opportunities for discussion with local institutions and patient associations. 

A central element will be the “Driving Change Arena: Health, Sport, City”, a debate format open to the public, which will explore the link between well-being, environment urbanoe cycling. Additionally, an exhibition of drawings on the theme of physical activity and cycling, created by primary and secondary school students from the participating towns, will be held.

Cycling? A vehicle for health

The 2025 Italian Regions' Cup will run from March 5th to October 19th across eleven Italian regions and over 250 municipalities.

The first event in Laigueglia was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Roberto Pella, Simona Ferro (Regional Councillor for Sport and School), Giorgio Manfredi (Mayor of Laigueglia), Lucia Briatore (President of the Regional AMD), and Antonio Micillo (President of CONI Liguria), demonstrating the strong involvement of local institutions in the project.
