Last June 24th, the new home was inaugurated in Magenta, a town on the border between Lombardy and Piedmont. the BUGIA Store which will allow all enthusiasts to come into contact with the cycling history of Gianni Bugno And above all, admire the bicycles that bear his name. For those who still don't know, the name BUGIA is a combination of the initials of the Monza champion's last name and first name.
Over the past few days, we decided to visit the new store to learn more about the history of the BUGIA brand. We were welcomed by Alessio Bugno, son of Gianni, who has been looking after his father's image and commitments for a few years and in 2019 created BUGIA.
His adolescence as a winning cyclist continued on the football pitch. His passion for football led him to play in Serie C, the current Lega Pro, passing through a brief experience in England at Carlisle UnitedToday, Alessio is 33 years old and hasn't stopped playing football. He recently signed for RG Ticino in Serie D, a sign of a deep passion for football that has guided him in his studies and his current profession.
Today it operates in the sector of assistance and consultancy for sports clubs and associations, of the provisions regarding professional and amateur sports bodies as well as sports workA profession in which he has put his decades of experience as a footballer to good use.

Alessio, let's start with the name LIE. Someone in the past might have had something to say about it...
It is possible and when the name was chosen we did some internal reflection…but then, after listening to my father and knowing his way of thinking and not giving too much weight to things, we decided not to change it.
When was LIE born?
It was born in 2019 on the eve of the anniversary celebrating the 30th anniversary of my father's victory at the 1990 Giro d'Italia. I wanted to surprise him. We made a total of 90 pieces, each of which is unique and exclusive with its own serial number. One of these was requested by Chateau d'Ax, the team with which he won the 1990 Giro. They wanted to use it for an initiative of theirs.

Why did you decide to create a showroom today?
Until now, we've sold our bikes online. However, we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to experience our bikes firsthand. Over the years, we have expanded our offerings, and it seemed right to us that people could see all the BUGIA models in person. Today, in addition to racing models, we also offer pedal-assist, gravel, and touring bikes. On the occasion of the showroom opening we gave everyone the opportunity to ride our bikes organizing a ride in what were my father's training areas for a certain period of his career.
What is LIE today and what do you intend to achieve?
In my father's intentions, which I fully share, there is a desire to promote the use of bicycles by involving as many people as possibleFor us, the bicycle has many facets: a tool for those who want to compete, but also a simple means of getting around the city or for taking a stroll.

Among the latest models in the catalog, we find two that recall two important moments in Bugno's career. What are they?
We wanted to celebrate my father's world championship triumphs in a significant way. Thanks to Osvaldo Bettoni, his longtime mechanic, we got in touch with Cicli Drali Milano. With them we created two special bicycles. We took care of the planning and design, Drali the manufacturing. The result is two racing models, the GB91S and the GB92B, dedicated respectively to the celebration of the world road titles won by Bugno in Stuttgart in 1991 and in Benidorm in 1992.
Alessio Bugno and I say goodbye as two potential customers arrive. While waiting to be seen, they carefully examine the bicycles on display and exchange opinions. The idea of creating a showroom seems to have been a good one.
