“The best bikes deserve the best wheels.” This is the slogan chosen by Oquo to present itself on the cycling market last yearWe are talking about a young and ambitious brand born from the desire to Orbea to provide practitioners not only with high-performance bikes, but also wheels of the highest technical level.
Oquo debuted on the market a few months ago with a series of wheels designed for the off-road world. The Basque brand chose Eurobike to present its first range of road wheels to industry professionals and the public. Two lines were presented in Frankfurt: “Road Performance”, which focuses on weight and aerodynamics for high-performance bikes and “Road Control”, which is aimed at gravel and endurance riding, with a particular focus on comfort.

100 percent Euskadi
From its headquarters in the Basque Country, Oquo designs, tests and manufactures all its wheels. Some simple but important principles guide the production: innovation, cutting-edge technology and the highest quality.
"Perfecting each wheel for each use," the company states, "means designing the rim profiles and the number of spokes from scratch, maximizing the materials and improving the construction process."
Oquo has manufacturing processes that allow it to manufacture with absolute precision every pair of wheels that leaves its factories. All this is possible thanks to the patented manufacturing process, combining the precision of robots with the accuracy and attention to detail of technicians. Each wheel also undergoes extremely rigorous testing protocols. Only after passing this process are they released to the market.

Unique wheels
But what makes Oquo wheels special, indeed unique? Here are some brief but significant notes:
- For the Road Performance wheels a internal rim width of 21 mm To increase the availability of tires that can be matched to the wheel. For the Road Control, the width is 25 mm. This allows for wider tires to be fitted, ensuring greater comfort and better grip.
- Oquo worked on an optimized mini hook design, which improves safety and robustness and helps the tire adapt to the rim, increasing aerodynamics.
- Maximum precision in spoke tension thanks to an extremely accurate construction process.
- Three different profiles to meet the needs of every type of cyclist: 57 mm; 45 mm; 35 mm.
- Oquo uses Sapim spokes and Zipp hubs.
- The Basque company covers any manufacturing defects during the warranty period.
