The bond that binds us is truly strong Prologue a Iván Basso e Alberto counter. Prologue and the new Aurum Zevra
Once they got off the saddle and started their managerial activity which led them to the creation of the Eolo—Cometa, for Basso and Contador it was natural to turn to Prologo as a technical partner for the Aurum supplied to their team.
A new Corsa model was presented in the last few weeks. This is the Zevra, a bike with a unique design and above all with limited availability since only 21 units will be made. This is not a randomly chosen number as it has a very important meaning in the world of professional cycling. In fact, there are 21 stages that make up the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España. Combining Basso and Contador's records, we can see that they each won all three races during their careers. Contador can even boast of having achieved the "triple crown," that is, having won all three Grand Tours.
The signature of Contador and Basso
Each frame features the signature of Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso on both sides of the top tube, as well as a badge with the edition number (01 to 21) chosen by the customer. Each model will be hand-assembled at the factory in Pinto, Contador's hometown.
And still staying on this bike, let's add a curiosity. The name Zevra with the “V” has Latin origins and roots since this is what the zebra was called in the language of the ancient Romans.
A special Prologue
Making each model even more special is the saddle supplied with the Zevra. This is the model Scratch M5 with a custom pattern that matches the frame's distinctive livery. The carbon fiber core and rails make it incredibly lightweight. It weighs only 129 grams without this compromising comfort.
The Scratch M5 was in fact developed together with the Polytechnic University of Milan to guarantee maximum technological innovation through the Multi-Sector-System, a system of different “islands” of foam separated from each other, each with its own density, to adapt to the different movements of the cyclist.
