Recently, the well-known streets of the Principality of Monaco have represented the perfect stage for the first edition of the BeKing Monaco eventOn the same asphalt made famous by the great Formula 1 “Circus”, Some of the most famous cyclists in the world challenged each other along a circuit of just 1.300 metres (repeated 40 times). Right in the heart of Monte Carlo, tackling the famous Tabaccaio and Rascasse curves, with the start and finish line on the Port Hercule straight. Among the event's partners, Astoria couldn't be left out, as it's always at the forefront when it comes to celebrating champions' victories.


A charitable initiative
A total of forty riders took part in the first edition of the Criterium BeKing Monaco. An event included in the official UCI 2021 calendar and created by Matteo Trentin in collaboration with AWE International Group UK and Live Your PassionDesigned to find a meeting point between cycling as a sport and the bicycle as a sustainable means of transportation. In the morning the riders took part in a charity Pro/AmTwelve teams, each composed of two professionals, one ambassador athlete, and two amateur cyclists, competed in a team time trial.
The goal was to raise funds to be allocated to Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco and the Michele Scarponi Foundation. Among the ambassadors present, they got on their bikes Valtteri Bottas, Mario Cipollini, Thor Hushovd and Michael DoohanFour professional athletes will also be competing: Lizzie Deignan, winner of the first and historic women's Paris-Roubaix, Elena Cecchini, Urska Zigart, and Tiffany Cronwell. The real highlight of the event took place in the afternoon, a battle between many of the top WorldTour riders.


Prosecco = joy!
