It took exactly 26 years, over a quarter of a century, to see the realization of what seemed to be an undertaking, if not impossible, at least very difficult to complete: win the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France in the same season. The last to do so was Marco Pantani in 1998. This year, the Pirate from Cesenatico has found his worthy heir in another absolute champion, Tadej Pogacar, the recent world champion. The Slovenian ace achieved both victories thanks to the technical support of PrologoThe Lombardy company has in fact supplied Pogacar with its top of the range: the Nago R4 147 saddle.

Winning debut

The Nago R4 147 is the saddle model that Pogacar has chosen to use since last fall. It was a successful debut with the success of Il Lombardia. From there came many victories: Strade Bianche, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, up to the double triumph at the Giro and the Tour.

The Giro d'Italia was won by Pogacar wearing the pink jersey for 20 consecutive days, with 6 stage victories. Then comes the Tour de France, the third won together with Prologo, with 6 other stage victoriesIn both rounds, the road victories always came on the saddle Nago R4 147.

Exclusive designs

Pogacar's double triumph could not fail to be celebrated by Prologo, which for the occasion has planned two exclusive designs for the Nago R4 147. The bases of the saddles reflect the pink and yellow of the jerseys won by the Slovenian champion, embellished on one side with his monogram featuring the initials "TP" and on the other with the "Big Ó" of Prologo. This is the brand's distinctive symbol, exclusively featured on the saddles used by supported teams and athletes.

At the center of the graphics The Slovenian flag and the list of the main victories achieved by Pogacar in his exceptional career stand out along with Prologue: Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, Tour of Flanders, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Il Lombardia, Strade Bianche, Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallonne, Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice.

Performance and comfort

The Nago R4 147 was designed starting from the needs of the professional teams supported by Prologo, and perfected thanks to the tests “Pressure Map MyOwn", to meet the needs of all cyclists seeking maximum performance and comfort, even on long rides. Compact in size, with a length of 245 mm and a T-shape, with a slightly forward anatomical center, to offer good freedom of movement in the saddle and maximize pedaling efficiency in all positions. The ergonomic semi-round shape also makes the new Nago R4 147 ideal for cyclists with medium flexibility in terms of pelvic rotation.

It features 3 completely independent separate sections, made with latest-generation variable-density foams to ensure excellent support and comfort throughout the pedal stroke. Under the central section is Prologo's Active Base system: a perforated base that combines the benefits of a closed saddle with a larger support surface with the advantages of an open base. The base is made of long-fiber carbon, a material that offers an excellent compromise between rigidity and comfort. The Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) Rail is made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and aluminum filaments, ideal for performance-oriented cyclists seeking maximum stiffness and lightness.

The two special editions of the Nago R4 147, celebrating the Giro D'Italia and the Tour de France, are presented in an elegant black cardboard box, with a celebratory pink and yellow bandThey are already available on the website www.prologo.it and at the best Prologo retailers, at a list price of Euro 299.
