For over ten years, Spiuk has been a well-established brand in the Italian cycling scene. Born in Spain, and initially distributed through two separate importers, the company made a significant leap in quality in 2019, when it decided to directly manage sales in Italy. This change of direction marked a real turning point, allowing access to the central warehouse and significantly expanding the range of available products, from helmets to footwear, up to technical clothing collections and accessories for every cycling specialty.

The new organization has made Spiuk much more competitive on the domestic market, thanks to streamlined logistics, rapid deliveries, and the ability to respond immediately to retailers' requests. The goal? To offer a large, up-to-date and high-quality catalogue, able to satisfy the needs of Italian cyclists, professionals e amateurs.

To learn more about this historic Basque Country company, we spoke with Fabrizio Cazzola, Spiuk's country manager for Italy.

How many years has Spiuk been present on the Italian market, and how has its presence evolved over time?

Spiuk has been present on the Italian market for over ten years. In the first phase, we collaborated with two different distributorsSince 2019, however, we have been directly managing sales in the area, and this has marked an important turning point. By accessing the central warehouse directly Spiuk, we have been able to significantly expand our offering, introducing clothing collections and new accessories. This has allowed us to be much more competitive, fully covering the needs of Italian shops with a large and up-to-date catalogue.

What is the coverage of the Spiuk sales network in Italy and what are the main distribution channels?

Our structure is extremely linear, as if we were a fully-fledged Italian company. We work with a network of agents divided by region, which communicate directly with both our headquarters in Spain and our Italian retailers. Each store has access to our B2B portal, connected in real time to the central warehouse, and can order even a single piece with rapid delivery, often in just three days. Since 2025, we have also launched the “custom” clothing line, produced entirely in SpainWe're already seeing great success among both stores and end customers. Today, we can say we offer a 100% complete service to our business partners.

Which product categories are attracting the greatest interest in Italy? Are there differences between the various cycling segments?

Our flagship product in Italy is definitely the shoe, both for road and off-road. Thanks to BOA technology, quality materials and a very competitive priceWe've managed to carve out a significant niche for ourselves in a very crowded market. We also offer tailor-made footwear for e-bikes. Another growing sector is helmets, where Spiuk boasts a long tradition. We have an offer that goes from the "entry-level" model to the professional one, with the possibility of customization for teams and stores. The big challenge for 2025 is to definitively establish ourselves in the technical apparel segment, both with ready-made collections (like the Capsule Collection) and with customization. In Spain, Spiuk is linked to an in-house manufacturing company, guaranteeing quality and direct control of the supply chain.

What are the main distinguishing advantages of a Spiuk product compared to the competition?

The real added value of Spiuk is the possibility of purchasing from a solid, transparent and responsive company, with an excellent quality-price ratio. We collaborate with world-leading suppliers such as BOA, Elastic Interface, Dolomite, Carvico: all companies that raise the technical level of our products... We place great emphasis on precision, reliability, and speed: we want to respond immediately to the needs of the market and stores. We have been a benchmark in Spain for years, and now our goal is to consolidate our position among the European leaders.
