The plastic problem

As everyone knows, one of the most polluting factors in recent years is the widespread use of plastic, a material that still causes significant environmental problems due to the challenges inherent in its disposal. To reduce plastic waste, Sprayke has recently launched various refills for its products., including one specifically designed for the Super Cleaner degreasing detergent. The 5-liter refill, in addition to being more economical than the dispenser bottle, can be refilled six times, thus generating significant savings in terms of plastic use.

In support of Plastic Free

Sprayke has decided not to stop at simply making various refills. In fact, he thought of taking a further step in favor of the environment by actively supporting "2 Italians Across the US", the project promoted by the well-known YouTuber Pietro Franzese (pictured above, visiting the Sprayke production facility, ed.). These days, Pietro is cycling independently the 6.000 km between San Francisco and Miami with Emiliano Fava. The ultimate goal is to raise funds to support Plastic Free, an Italian association that since 2019 has promoted various initiatives focused on plastic collection.

The project, which will feature Pietro Franzese and Emiliano Fava, is linked to the protection of the Mida Creek nature reserve in Kenya. Thanks to Plastic Free, today plastic is collected by local residents and taken to special centers for its correct disposal., thus preventing it from being burned or buried. With the support of donations from "2 Italians Across the Us", through the platform GoFundMe, It will be possible to continue waste collection and provide the local population with bins where they can collect plastic., strengthening the awareness-raising mission.

All told

During their journey Pietro Franzese and Emiliano Fava will document with video and photo images their adventure and the use of plastic in the USA which, data in hand, It is the country with the highest per capita use of plastic in the world, especially single-use items. It should be noted that Italy ranks second in Europe for plastic consumption.

Pietro and Emiliano will travel using two gravel bikes and will do so completely self-sufficiently. They will not receive external help or technical support, they will mainly use the tent for sleeping and the gas stove for cooking.During their journey, they can count on all Sprayke products for the care and maintenance of their gravel bikes, from cleaners to lubricants to protectors. Thanks to Sprayke, their journey will certainly be safer.

We close with their thoughts on the journey that awaits them and which is currently underway: «Traveling by bicycle is one of the most sustainable ways to discover the world and its beauties. But the environment is highly compromised by plastic pollution. This is why we chose to support Plastic Free during our trip through a fundraiser that will support their projects in Italy and around the world and using our Instagram profiles and YouTube channels to contribute to the important outreach work that the association carries out on a daily basis».
