Claudio Cannizzaro is the new Italy manager for SUPERIOR, a bicycle brand founded and operating in the Czech Republic. Its mission is clear: to introduce Italian cyclists to a brand built by those who live and breathe the passion for cycling..
We listened to him and interviewed him with pleasure, and what follows is the result of a conversation that undoubtedly brings some ideas not to be underestimated...
Let's get straight to the point. What are your main objectives and the organization you intend to implement in Italy as the new manager?
Our goal is simple: to introduce SUPERIOR to Italian cyclists as a brand created by people who share the same passion for cycling. We don't enter the market as newcomers, but as enthusiasts who understand what a cyclist expects from a great bike.Precision, performance, and an authentic connection to the road or trail. We will build a select and strong dealer network, choosing partners who share our values: honesty, professionalism, customer service, and enthusiasm for cycling. The experience gained in European markets allows us to bring a modern structure and a clear strategy, but the heart of the project will always be passion and human connection. We want those who collaborate with SUPERIOR to feel part of a community, not just a business.

What are your expectations in terms of growth and positioning? Do you see any differences in the demands of Italian cyclists compared to markets like the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and France?
Italian cyclists are unique: they don't just buy a bicycle, they choose a travel companion. Every single purchase is a personal gesture, tied to passion and identity. For this reason, Italy represents for us an exciting challenge and a real growth opportunity. We don't want to be just another international brand entering the market: we want to earn the respect of Italian cyclists with the quality of our products and the authenticity of our approach. Our bikes are designed with craftsmanship, European style and high performance, but always with an attention to detail that reflects the Italian spirit.
SUPERIOR has a long history of innovation, such as the introduction of 29” wheels on MTBs or the X-ROAD gravel bikes. In such a saturated market, what is the distinctive feature that makes a Superior unique and recognizable today?
At SUPERIOR, everything stems from a passion for cycling. We develop and test our bikes in Europe, under real-world conditions, until they achieve impeccable performance. What makes a SUPERIOR unique is the combination of engineering precision and authentic passionEvery single model reflects our belief that great performance should be accessible to everyone, without compromising on quality and reliability. The goal is to offer an exceptional driving experience, with attention to detail and transparent pricing. We want Italian cyclists to feel the same emotion we feel every time a new frame is born: the joy of creating something that inspires people to pedal more.

Considering your range, which are currently the best-selling SUPERIOR models internationally (MTB, road, gravel, e-bike) and which do you think have the greatest potential in Italy?
At European level, our most successful models are mountain bikes and gravel bikes, for the balance between performance, reliability and comfort. The Team XF and XRoad series represent two true icons of the brandVersatile, high-performance bikes designed for those seeking pure thrills on any terrain. In Italy, we also see great potential for our eBlox line, a range of elegant and functional commuter e-bikes, perfect for those looking for a single bike for every need: getting around the city, traveling, or tackling weekend excursions. They are lightweight, responsive models with a refined design, perfect for the Italian lifestyle..
How important is the e-bike segment in the Italian strategy and what competitive advantage can SUPERIOR offer in the pedal-assisted bicycle market?
The e-bike segment is one of the central pillars of our strategy for Italy. But for us an e-bike must remain a real bicycle: light, agile and fun to rideWe don't want the cyclist to feel the engine, but the freedom to move without limits. Our e-bikes combine the latest generation Bosch and Shimano motors with our expertise in frame design, offering perfect integration, balanced geometry, and maximum efficiency. The SUPERIOR advantage lies precisely in its precision, reliability, and real value: we build bicycles that not only stand out in design and technology, but also deliver on their promises in the field.

SUPERIOR is known for its constant pursuit of innovation. What are the next directions you're exploring in terms of materials, technology, or new product segments?
We're always looking to the future. Our Research and Development team is working on lighter frames, smarter integrations, and longer-lasting batteries, aiming to deliver superior comfort and versatility. We believe the future of cycling lies in simplicity and reliability.: bicycles that are beautiful to look at, easy to use, and capable of instilling confidence every day.
Finally, how do you plan to build and support your sales network in Italy? What criteria will you use to select partners, and what tools will you provide?
«We want to grow together with our partners, with people who love cycling as much as we do. The goal is to build a compact but solid network of selected retailers, who share our vision and commitment to our customers. We will support them with dedicated training, bike tests, marketing materials, digital support, and constant direct contact. We believe that success comes from collaboration, not competition. We want – and we will work resolutely towards that – that every SUPERIOR partner feels truly proud to represent the brand. Because SUPERIOR is not just a bicycle manufacturer: it is a community of people who live and breathe cyclingAnd it is this spirit that we want to share with Italian cyclists."
