The Campagnolo experience
In view of the 2024 edition of the America's Cup sailing team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli has decided to rely on Campagnolo's experience to develop a brand new high-performance drivetrain system dedicated to the team's “cyclists”. The new America's Cup Protocol provides for the introduction of a new figure called “cyclors” on AC75 class yachts. These are real cyclists who will move the boat with their lower limbs, replacing the "grinders" who until now did it with their hands.
This decision triggered a real technical revolution in preparation for the next America's Cup. This is precisely why Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli chose to involve Campagnolo to develop a new transmission system.

The America's Cup is considered the pinnacle of international sailing regattas. The first edition dates back to 1851, making it the oldest international trophy still being contested. It remains one of the most difficult competitions and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli aims to be the first Italian team to win it, also taking advantage of the use of the new technology that Campagnolo has made available to it.
