Eight new colors
On the occasion of the start of the Giro d'Italia 2025, Trek has decided to enrich the series Project One CHROMA with eight new colors, which the Waterloo-based company described as "exciting." Homage to the past
CHROMA pays homage to the metallic colors found on bicycle frames from the 1980s and 1990s. Unlike the chrome plating process used decades ago, Project One artists spent nearly five years customizing this truly complex technique.Not only did they want to achieve this finish using a much cleaner process than chrome bikes of the past, but they also needed to find a way to adhere the glossy look to the carbon fiber.
The Project One team had to face the challenge of creating a chrome finish capable of adhering to carbon fiber and developed with much cleaner processes than those of the chrome bikes of the past, which often required the use of toxic materials.
