A historic collaboration
Trek and World Bicycle Relief have been collaborating for several years, dating back to 2005, when the organization was founded. Trek has since worked alongside World Bicycle Relief to design the first Buffalo Bike prototype.Thanks to this particular bicycle model, every day, students, healthcare workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs are able to get their communities moving independently.
The bicycles come assembled and distributed locally through various program representatives, trained to provide quality maintenance and support and help create a sustainable infrastructure.


In support of women
Thanks to the Buffalo Bikes that will be donated through the new fundraising campaign, it will be possible to give concrete support for many women and girls who still live in difficult contexts throughout the world today.
Johanna Vega, Program Manager for World Bicycle Relief in Colombia, described the impact that World Bicycle Relief and Buffalo Bike have had on the villages around her: «Women's cycling and girls who were once stressed, exhausted, late for school, They can now reduce transport times by more than half, strengthen their confidence and not abandon the school system.
