The Italian cycling industry is strengthened by the creation of a new group dedicated to high-end components. Ursus, a Vicenza-based company among the European leaders in the production of bicycle wheels, hubs, and accessories., has in fact acquired the majority stake in Saccon, a historic Treviso-based company specializing in braking systems and mechanical controls.
With this operation, Ursus and Saccon combine complementary skills to create an integrated supply chain that covers the entire production process: from design to manufacturing of wheels, stands, skewers, brakes, cables, and levers. The agreement also includes Sacconplast, the internal division dedicated to the injection molding of Made in Italy plastic components., a key element to guarantee control and quality at every stage of production.
The result is the birth of a new Italian industrial hub in the bicycle components sector, capable of offering complete and innovative solutions.

Synergies and innovation
"The collaboration between Ursus and Saccon," commented Mirko Ferronato, CEO of Ursus, "represents a decisive step toward a more solid and competitive supply chain. Our goal is to generate technical and production synergies to offer manufacturers high-performance and sustainable solutions, always in the spirit of Made in Italy".
Floriano Saccon, at the helm of the company founded in 1981, shares the same view. “With Ursus,” Saccon added, “we share the same attention to quality and customer service. Joining a more structured group will allow us to accelerate technological development. Furthermore, we will be able to expand our offering, maintaining the identity and experience gained over forty years of business."
Both companies will continue to operate independently, maintaining their respective facilities and teams. However, they will share common goals in research, innovation and sustainability, to consolidate Italy's role as a leading player in the global cycling component industry. The integration between the two entities also strengthens the position of Made in Italy in the context of sustainable mobility., a rapidly expanding sector where the bicycle is the protagonist.
