The Eurobike expo has now been closed for a few days, for Ursus It's time to make a first partial assessment of the performance of commercial activity in 2022And to be able to do it "hot", we took the opportunity to have a chat, directly at the Ursus stand present at the Frankfurt show, with Mirko Ferronato who is the CEO of the same Venetian entrepreneurial reality.
«I like to define our company as a metalworking company supporting alternative mobility – said Ferronato – Right here at Eurobike we have seen first-hand, once again, how the bicycle, in all its forms, is strategic and functional to the complex environmental revolution that awaits us».
«And at Ursus, we believe deeply in the general theme of respect for the environment, committing ourselves daily to promoting a green production line».

How's your work developing? Here at the fair, we noticed a large crowd at the stand and many new products being released...
Our company, constantly growing, looks to the future with optimism. This momentum comes from the consolidation process undertaken in recent years, which led to the creation of our operational headquarters in Rosà. A structure that offered Ursus cutting-edge production and directionThe entire production cycle takes place in full compliance with the highest quality standards. Everything is 100% Made in Italy. We've implemented a complete reorganization of our production chain., expanded and renovated according to the principles of Industry 4.0 and the highest European quality standards (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
A great commitment…
To do all this we have made huge investments. The space dedicated to manufacturing and storage of products has been increased, through the construction of a second 3.000 square meter industrial warehouse which was added to the existing one which measures 9.000 square meters.

And always with an eye on environmental issues?
The theme of respect for the environment has become our mantra. Always referring to our operational structure, for example, the latter has been dedicated to clean production, which includes the storage and assembly of semi-finished components. The existing area has been rationalized to accommodate heavy processing of raw materials. The technology at the service of the company is supported by a photovoltaic system that produces 550 kWhThe battle for climate conservation starts with each of us, and at Ursus we know this well.
A great green sensibility, in short…
Our metalworking company has chosen to focus its business on the production of components designed to support the development of bicycle mobility. But that's not all: Ursus spa has chosen to become a driving force for change, adhering to a green ethic, including the clean processing of raw materials. Respect for the environment, but also for the work and health of our employees.

Product differentiation for all bicycle variations, maximum attention to the environment and then what?
I'd like to add a third key factor: the rationalization of production systems. All our production activities are now managed through MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Can you explain it better?
The first is a management tool that allows you to optimize processes by increasing plant productivity, while improving environmental conditions. The S.PC is a monitoring software that uses big data to provide a whole series of statistics useful for the continuous improvement of our devices. We then made storage operations more efficient thanks to the new automated warehouse and the Stockforce WMS management system.
