It's a race within a race, maybe even two races within a race. Every day you have to go on the attack, there are many GPMs, so you have to aim for the right ones. to collect the necessary points. You have to study the route and understand where you can succeed, which are the climbs to try.
Usually, the stage winner receives congratulations from the peloton the next day. How did that go for you?
It was wonderful to receive compliments from so many riders, teammates in the group and very strong people with whom I would never have expected to exchange a few words, like Thomas and Remco.
