The chapter closed with the second Giro Next Gen he left traces of something that was already known, but now it has been confirmed. There is a youth cycling that travels at two different speeds, if not three. In carriage number one there are the I have to team up of the WorldTour, teams in which the strongest riders compete and ready for the world of adults. With shirts of the same colors as the major teams, to make it clear that the paths have, in part, already been undertaken.

In the second carriage the continentals travel, not all of them deserve to have this nomenclature, but the problem should be postponed to other places. Finally there are the club teams, invited but never protagonists, devoured by rhythms that have decimated them day after day.

Amadori's eyes

In this edition, the coach of the under 23 national team led a selection of six boys, all coming from teams excluded from the Giro Next Gen

«From the technical side we knew it would be a Giro Next Gen with a good group of starters – he explains – consequently this gap was to be expected. I would have liked to see something more on the climb, but it was clear at the Nations Cup trials that we were behind in this area. In Poland and the Czech Republic we had achieved two fifteenth places with Scalco e Crescioli. A round of applause goes to Kajamini and Pinarello, who entered the top ten and at the levels seen at Giro Next Gen it's not easy."

Someone is missing…

Crescioli was sick for practically all eight days, and only recovered at the end. Mosca, who was in my team and I had brought him to test him, fell immediately. His Giro Next Gen It only lasted five kilometers. So there was also a bit of bad luck.

Except for the arrivals at high altitude, the Italians made themselves seen.

In the mixed courses we showed that we are there, the boys were often present and competitive. Even in the sprints there were glimpses of Italy with Conforti who boldly jumped in. Clearly, we didn't win., but being there playing it is still encouraging.

Perhaps the best day in Zocca, with Privitera third?

Not only him, that day there were many boys on the run: Private precisely but also Romele, Village and Peaches. It wasn't an easy day for the attackers, as the group surged out at absurd speeds.

Now come the important events for the national team: Avenir, World Cup and European Championships.

We'll have to work on those. After the Aosta Valley I will go to high altitude in Sestriere like every yearWe will try to build the best team for Avenir first and then for the European Championship and the World Cup.

Un Giro Next Gen which showed how the first years are already strong.

The first two (Widar e Torres, ed.) are very young, but our players also defend well, especially Borgo and Privitera. It must be said that the riders who come from the junior category are already good, prepared and up to the task. Then we also have many 2005 boys, in addition to Borgo and Privitera there are also Gualdi and Turconi for example.

Then there were also some illustrious absentees among ours…

The first years here suffer from the fact that they have school and maturity to face. But whoever came had a great experience behind them, in a race that gives nothing away.We missed out on victory, but at this level it's never easy to win.
