La Chocolate Capital broadens horizons and embraces two wheels. context is the magnificent Umbrian territory Among the hills and natural terraces that nature has gifted to this corner of the world. The chosen time is no coincidence, and it happens to be during one of the Umbrian capital's most important events. Choco Gravel will be held on October 22nd during Eurochocolate.
The ride will be dedicated not only to gravel bikes but it will also be open to mountain bikes and e-bikesThe routes will wind along some of the six “Sweet Hills” routesAn event dedicated to cycle tourists which is part of the Around Perugia project promoted by the Municipality of PerugiaIn partnership with Grifo Bike.

Between taste and territory
«The initiative – he declares Gabriele Giottoli, Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Perugia – will therefore be held during Eurochocolate, Umbriafiere, 14-23 October, and is dedicated to all those who wish to be present at theannual appointment par excellence dedicated to the Italian and international chocolate tradition, planning a pleasant weekend cycling to discover the landscapes hills that surround the Chocolate Capital."
An added value that fits in with a period when Perugia sees tourists arriving from all over the world. This year the cycling highlights what surrounds the capital and wants to make it known to those who come from far away and beyond. An opportunity to show off the surrounding beauties on two wheels for a slow tourism that respects environmental harmonyIt is no coincidence that a dedicated intervention by the administration is to equip some Proloco offices with e-bike charging stations and furnishings dedicated to welcoming tourists.

Sweet Hills
In the Chocolate Capital, the six mapped itineraries take their names from the flavour for which these places are famous. “Dolci Colline” are six routes accessible by mountain bike, gravel and e-bikeThey are divided and designed specifically for any target of cyclists, from beginners to the most experienced. The roads follow one another and they climb the Umbrian slopes between dirt roads and secondary roads, rediscovered also thanks to the careful mapping work made with the project Around Perugia.
A characteristic feature of these routes is represented by the rest areas, where there are special stations where it will be possible to place your bicycle, stock up on drinking water and consult digital totems. The six marked itineraries reach the three hundred kilometers in total, the result of intense scouting work conducted in collaboration with the Fiab Perugia Pedala association, the Centro rematori Passignano asd and Int. Geo. Mod. srl, who digitized them and prepared them for uploading into the app.
There are two itineraries and they are part of the “Dolci Colline” mapping. Along the way there will be the opportunity to refresh yourself and visit the beauties of the area.
