He's been drawing a line under 2022 for a while now. In fact, he's been training again for two weeks now to redeem himself. This reinforces Silvia Magri's motivation (in the opening photo, Ossola). he already has for next year, the leap to the WorldTour has also arrived. The Legnanese born in 2000 will be one of the new faces (and of the four Italian ones) of Israel Premier Tech Roland.
«To tell the truth, I'm still doing low intensity work – Magri explains to us on the phone, leaving the Born to Win after one season, for a two-year contract with the Swiss team – however I wanted to start again after fifteen days of rest, since this year for one reason or another I have run very little».

Silvia, let's start with the season that just ended. How was it?
A bit troubled and unnerving, even if it had started well. At the start of the year I was very motivated and achieved good placingsFifth at the Montignoso international, two thirds in Liguria at the Trofeo Ponente in Rosa and a good top ten at the first stage of the Gracia Orlova in the Czech Republic. There, however, I crashed and had to take a break for two weeks before starting again. From that moment I realized that I was chasing the condition. And that wasn't the only reason.
What else happened?
Let me start by saying that I have always gone running to give and do the best I can. I never wanted to find excuses or justificationsConsidering that our team didn't compete in the Giro, we created an alternative calendar that would allow us to compete. In fact, in July I went alone to do two races in Belgium (Zottegem-Strijpen and the GP Deinze, ed.) where I finished fifth and eleventh. However, I noticed that, even though I was in front, I was struggling a lot, more than usual.. So we started doing some investigations and we found out I was finishing getting over mononucleosis. But by now a good part of the season was over.

Without the traditional Giro d'Italia showcase and with this health problem, how did you experience the moment emotionally?
It was hard. I'm a particularly careful, fussy and a bit of a perfectionist girl. (He says this smiling, ed.) And I saw that despite that, I couldn't find the right form to be seen. I wanted to prove something more, and with all that succession of events, I was very sorry I couldn't do it. I missed the resultsNot so much for the results themselves as for morale. Luckily, however, the call from Israel arrived.
How did this negotiation come about?
I had an initial contact in May, just to get to know each other. The team called me directly. Then We spoke again in June at the end of the training camp in Livigno with the national teamThat was the occasion to define and close the contract, thanks to the mediation of the GGLL Promotion (Luca Mazzanti's agency, ed.).

What convinced you to accept their proposal?
I must say that I had had contact with other groups in the same period, but they had arrived later. What struck me about Israel's project was its high level of professionalism and its desire to help me grow without rushing. They told me right away that they would like me to do it a more intense calendar precisely because I'm coming from a year with few races. I will also have three other Italian companions (Collinelli, Pyrrhon, Vieceli, ed.), an advantage for all of us. In the meantime, they have already given us a hint of programs. From December 1st to 10th we'll be on a training camp in Girona. And I could start as early as the Tour Down Under in Australia.. Everything needs to be confirmed, of course, but it's already something to work on.
On anything in particular or is it like starting all over again?
A bit of both. The tests I've done have confirmed that I have a fast start, so I'll work towards the future to have it in the final stages of the race. I'm good at distance running, but it's obvious I have to redo the basics.I'll have to get stronger, but one thing at a time. My trainer Marco Sias takes care of the tables for the gym and for the bike.I trust him blindly and he will then be the one to interface with Fabio Vedana, the team's trainer.

What are your goals for 2023?
I don't have any specifics. The intention is to show myself right awaySince I have the characteristics of a sprinter who can hold his own on steep climbs and short climbs, I would like to go strong in Belgium. For example, the Brabant Arrow is a race that I really like. Then I would like to race my first Giro, it would be a nice way to debut with a WT team. Finally, I would like to stay on the blue radar.. With Paolo (the city Sangalli(ed.) I spoke to him, and this year he understood my situation. That was important to me. If I look at the glass half full, it's better to have had these problems now than to have them next year. I want to get back into it too.
