Campagnolo Super Record 2×13 is a full wireless. In addition to those of an earlier era, the dates to mark in the new millennium of Campagnolo there are five. In 2000 the first 10-sprocket group arrives. 2008 and 2018, with 2×11 and 2×12 respectively. In 2020 Campagnolo enters the gravel world and officially launches the first 1x13 single chainring, the Ekar. We will remember the 2025 for the first road transmission with 13 rear gears and double front crown. It's the Super Record Wireless.

A sneak peek at the Giro d'Italia (mounted on Stefano Oldani's Look), the new Campagnolo Super Record 2×13 It is faster than the previous generation Wireless (dated 2023), lightweight and efficient, with a lower list price. The internal/lateral buttons return to the levers for chain derailleur and transmission is completely customizable. 4 combinations for rear cassettes and well seven those of the crownsBut it doesn't end here, because the new SR 2025 wants to be an all-rounder group, even with the single crown (which will arrive at the end of the summer). The spacing required for the rear sprockets is the same as for the 12-speed with N3W body. Regardless of the configuration, the focus was on simplifying the entire system and maximizing shifting speed. Let's go into detail.

Super Record, 2×13 is born but…

It's not just a group, but a platform identifiable in the 13 rear speeds which exponentially broadens the concept of interpretation and use. This is thanks to the double-chainring cranksets and the wide range of sprockets, thanks to the possibility of configuring with a single front chainring. Yes, the new Campagnolo Super Record is also 1×13. Road, time trial, and even gravel, with a dedicated derailleur that integrates a specially developed clutch. The 1×13 gravel configuration supports sprockets up to 48 teeth. In total, the new Super Record has/will have in its range three different derailleurs.

The system follows the current trend that combines the use of a single chainring (but 12 rear gears are not enough for all-round usability) with the classic double chainring, where the addition of a sprocket can offer further advantages and once again minimize the "holes" in metric developments. And then, with the same configuration, the 13-speed is lighter, 2.435 grams, compared to 2.520 grams for the Wireless 12The new Campagnolo Super Record Wireless is less expensive than the previous 12. 4.300 euros list price without power meter (compared to 5.200 for the previous Wireless), 5.399 euros with the meter.

Sprockets, chainrings and cranks

Respectively 10-33 and 10-29, 11-32 and 11-36. 45-29 and 48-32, 50-34 and 52-36, 53-39 and 54-39, 55-39 are the combinations for the chainrings. As for the sprockets (each cassette is made up of three steel blocks, (the titanium ones will arrive later), the design draws on the experience gained with Ekar, in terms of rigidity, durability and adopts a new finish for precise shifting even under pressure. The countersinks and profiles of each individual pinion have been redesigned to increase the speed of shifting and derailing.

The cranks are made of carbon, as per Super Record tradition, while thethru axle is Ultra Torque (separated into two parts, between the left and right crankset) in titanium. The cranksets are available in standard configuration, or with the HPPM power meter. There are four lengths available: 165 and 170 millimetres, 172,5 and 175, all with a Q factor of 148,5.

Lightweight design and greater efficiency

The derailleur and rocker arms have been completely redesigned, first of all in terms of design. The derailleur has been “leaned out” in the central body (it is made of carbon and integrates the battery, now with a declared autonomy of up to 750 kilometres) and has a larger cage, always in carbon, but capable of a very wide draft range, from 29 to 55 teeth (a lot).

Has been the rear end has also been slimmed down and refined, less bulky, with pulleys with 14 teeth each (with teeth of different shapes, the upper one has ceramic spheres) and has been made more up-to-date, thanks to an optimal interface with supports UDHThe upper pulley is designed for optimal chain movement, while the lower one adjusts chain tension. The rocker arm of the new Campagnolo Super Record is made of carbon.

The internal lever returns (it is now a button)

Completely redesigned controls: from the levers to the hydraulic chamber, with pronounced ergonomics. They borrow the Ergopower name from the Campagnolo Super Record shifter family, and have a slimmer front end that is less impactful, but at the same time, the contact surface for the palms of the hands has been increased. The levers have a curvature dedicated to simplifying the braking action, which offers advantages in the (reduced) application of force. Overall, the design was conceived with the new UCI rules and to match the integrated handlebars with side flare.

A button (discharged in the center) inside the brake lever and the button inside the body of the manettino, a sort of return to the past, but with a modern twist. And then there are the two small added buttons dedicated to setting the drivetrain and pairing it with the Campagnolo app. The drivetrain can use 6 buttons in total (3 for each shifter), underscoring once again that everything is configurable as desired via the app. For those who love numbers: the number of components for a single manettino has been drastically reduced, going from 74 in the previous version to 36 in the current oneFurthermore, it takes only 2,1 seconds to completely upshift the chain (from the smallest to the largest sprocket) (which drops to 1,9 for a complete downshift).
