Selle Italia, a company that has always been linked to innovation and progress, presents its new sustainable saddle: the Model X LeafA product created thanks to the ever-increasing attention towards an eco-sustainable production model. The Treviso-based brand has created a process that does not involve the use of polluting materials thanks to the patented Greentech technology.
An innovative series
The Greentech production model, born in 2021, kicked off production of the Model X saddle series. The Model X Leaf seat is assembled by joining the three parts that make up the seat mechanically Eliminating all forms of chemical pollution. The Greentech process eliminates the use of elements such as glues and synthetic resins, thus eliminating waste because the scraps and offcuts are reintroduced into the production cycle.
The graphic is printed directly inside the transparent cover and features a leaf pattern, a clear reference to Selle Italia's green vocation. The rail is made of Fec Alloy, resistant and flexible, plus the shape of the saddle is waved for a more stable position, and is aimed at all cyclists who have a retroversion of the pelvis.
Sustainable and recyclable
The production and assembly system is practically zero kilometer, in fact companies within a 15 kilometer radius of the production site are involved. Additionally, the Model X Leaf features an antibacterial process built into the paddingAnother really interesting detail is that Selle Italia supports the claim “Future Rides Green.” The end result is a saddle that, at the end of the Model X Leaf’s life, will allow for the recycling of its components.
