Ursus continues its growth and development path linked to high-performance wheels and, after months of work and field testing, the new Arya R arrivesA product born from the ideas of the technicians and laboratory studies, who studied and designed this new wheel. Alongside all this there were also road tests, in which the professional riders with whom the Venetian brand works played a key role.
The Arya R wheels were born from a long and delicate process that saw the WorldTour races as the final step, the most complicated one to overcome. In fact, these wheels were protagonists in the most demanding and difficult stage race of the entire calendar: the Tour de France., in which they supported Team Picnic PostNL. They were particularly prominent in Oscar Onley's fourth-place finish in Paris.

A year of development
The creation of the new Arya R wheels in Ursus began a year ago, when Rosà's company entered the WorldTour alongside the Dutch team Picnic PostNLThe challenge of being at the top level of world cycling has brought new goals and horizons.
«The idea was to bring a wheel to be used in a different context – says Marco Giacomin, Product Manager of Ursus – even if we already had it at home Proxima, which the team used for the first part of 2025We focused on two themes: lightening and stiffening. A company like ours always has a focus on innovation and continuous pursuit of maximum development».

High targets
Lightening and stiffening: with these two objectives in mind, the Ursus engineers set to work to find the right balance and create a new wheel model.
«To be able to build what we had in mind, that is the new Arya R – continues Marco Giacomin – we got to work studying every detail and the interaction of each component of the wheel group. Test and the studies are all conducted internally within the company, an aspect that has allowed us to always keep every detail under control. On a technical level, the Arya R wheels feature the novelty of using carbon spokes. An aspect that offers greater rigidity and a truly low weight.
«In order to best combine all the details and technical aspects, we also renewed the hub, produced internally by us. We noticed that with carbon spokes they deform less with the increase in load, which gives greater rigidity to the structure.. The hub we developed also offers great uniformity in terms of tension levels."

Data and numbers
The Arya R wheels, made in two versions, with a 35 mm and 50 mm profile (in opening), go from 24 spokes to 21. The weight goes from 1.250 grams (per pair) for the lowest profile, to 1.350 grams for those with the highest profile.
«The Arya R wheels – concludes Marco Giacomin – are suitable for routes with a lot of altitude difference, in fact they were protagonists in the mountain stages of last year Tour de France. They allow for greater response in relaunches and great driving reactivity, also improving cornering precision. They perfectly meet the needs of cyclists looking for high-tech products that also improve performance."
