MagneticDays Forza Pura was born from the collaboration between the Tuscan company and Nico Valsesia. I am one tool for the specific training, aimed at making the two work together lower limbs independently and aimed at stimulating all muscle groups, the joints, without forgetting the cardiovascular system. However, the quality of the product is not only linked to "how it is used", but also to the construction, which demands only high-quality materials and meticulous attention to detail. Let's look at the main features and our initial impressions and feedback after use.

When the goal is to improve

They are cranks, but also a one-of-a-kind system, for construction and concept. The Forza Pura are born from a single block of CNC machined aluminum (thanks to numerically controlled machines), they are thinner towards the ends and bulkier as they get closer to the bottom bracket block. Here it fits the thru axle, which can have a diameter of 24 or 30 millimetresThe latter is inserted and screwed onto the cranksets, so that the tool adapts to the standard required by the bicycle.

The central axis is also built Magnetic Days. The package weighs just over 2 kilograms It also includes a 110mm BCD chainring bolt pattern, five fixing nuts, and a threaded pedal sleeve. The latter is adjustable, offering three lengths: 170, 172,5, and 175mm.

Fast&Easy

The upper part of the crank is also the natural housing of the locking and unlocking mechanism (Fast&Easy) of the Pure Strength. Once locked, the cranks work in a classic manner and are also very rigid. When you decide to unlock the system, they are independent of each other, forcing the legs to work equally independently. The lever outside the crank is the catch that “releases” the cranks.

What is

All the muscle areas of the legs are stimulated and the exercises to be performed are practically infinite, on the home trainer and/or on the bike that is used in an outdoor context. We work on the dynamics of pedaling, involving the push and pull phases, but also balance: therefore also core stability in the saddle (an aspect which is by no means secondary).

You work on one leg at a time and this stimulates strength independently, even during recovery phases, for example after an injury. The abdominal wall and part of the torso are also touched. And then we return to the functioning of a standard crankset, perfectly usable and comparable to a traditional compartment.

First impressions

Let's start from the assumption that although they can be used indoors and/or outdoors, the Magneticdays Forza Pura are a tool for quality, specific and targeted training. This is a consideration that leads us to imagine a scenario linked to the use of the product on a bike to be used for training, or for home training. Independent of course, but Pure Forces can be used blocked and with the legs working equally, that is, pulling and pushing in the same way.

The hamstrings, biceps femoris, vastus lateralis, and semimembranosus muscles work continuously. It's not uncommon to experience pain after the first few sessions, which can be traced back to a previously under-activated stimulus. And then there's that abdominal movement and at times it seems like you're working with core-stability.

Low intensity and low rpm

“A bit like being in the gym,” we'd like to write, when the best and highest-quality work is done through concentration and not quantity. With the MagneticDays Forza Pura you work at low intensities and with a reduced number of revolutions, you stay tense and try to accompany the pedaling gesture in its every part. Muscle work is truly important and incredibly rewarding. You work a lot with strength, and being able to follow the movement through its various phases is something that's impossible (or only possible to a limited extent) with traditional cranks.
