We admired the Eureka CXS preview at Rimini Bike Festival. The stand of Guerciotti It wasn't far from ours and in the constant coming and going our eye fell on this beast placed in full view on a bit of land, its favourite terrain.

Next to her was her “sister” gravel, the EscapeBut it's the first, true racing vehicle used by the yellow and black team that we want to talk about.

Monocoque Ud

«The Eureka CXS represents a significant upgrade over the current Eureka CX, which already represents a top-of-the-range model in the discipline - explains Alessandro Guerciotti - The frame is a carbon monocoque that uses only ultra-high modulus fiber. It is worked with cold resin in full EPS and this allows for a pressure inside the mould of approximately 12-13 atmospheres".

Such high pressure allows the material to lay down evenly on the mold: the result is a much more robust frame, less susceptible to breakage. And at the same time, it's also very responsive.

«Eureka CXS – Guerciotti resumes returning from Osoppo's cross – will be used by Gioele Bertolini, Jacob Dorigoni e Gaia Realini. But the boys will have it available in November as, given the Covid times, there have been delays in the production chain."

The Bully's Judgment

And Bully himself is more or less of the same opinion, Gioele Bertolini, who won in Osoppo, but with the “old” Eureka.

«For now I have only seen and touched the new bike, I have not pedaled it – says the current tricolor – I must say that it made a very good impression on me as our directives were also taken into consideration. For example, there's a little more space between the seat tube and the rear wheel to facilitate mud drainage. Furthermore, the cable routing is now fully integrated. And this is a good thing: in addition to the clean look, it also improves practicality. Less dirt between the cables means less chance of getting tangled when carrying the bike.

"Otherwise, the geometry is identical, and in theory, the ride should be the same. But before we can make any definitive judgments, we'll need to test it first."

Top setup

Bertolini and his companions will use the Eureka CXS mounted with the Sram, but for the racing team this will be the Red (in Rimini it was exhibited with the Force). Bullo, however, doesn't want a single chainring, but a double one. He feels more comfortable with it and has a wider gear range, he says.

Even the handlebar, given the integration of the cables, will be integrated and will be a FSAThe wheels remain the Ursus, for a combination that is now more tested with Guerciotti.

Finally the tires. The entire cross range is available Challenge, so four types of tires. The most versatile of these, the Grifo, is the one fitted as standard. At least on the top-of-the-range model.
