Laces and power
Giro engineers started from a single piece of steel to create this Empire SLX. Synchwire monofilament fabric surrounding a classic lace-up closure to allow for a second-skin feel. seamless upper It's ventilated and reinforced to create a lightweight cycling shoe with impressive airflow and consistent shape retention. The heat-sealed Teijin TPU fabric provides structural support in strategic areas.
Giro works closely with the engineering team at Easton to develop proprietary soles that provide the most direct and powerful connection to the pedals without compromising comfort. Through advanced modeling and fitment in their extensive testing lab, each sole is designed to provide a ideal rigidity in 3 zones: toes, arches and heels. All while keeping the weight and stack height as low as possible (up to 6,5 mm). Furthermore, the flatter edges of the Giro soles allow the upper of the shoe to adapt to larger or wider feet (what Giro calls the Spillover Effect).
Adaptable comfort
Completes the structure of this Empire SLX the Giro SuperNatural Fit SystemA bike-specific insole with an adjustable arch support kit.
