Cervélo announces this new model with some improvements: the asymmetric bottom bracket with T47a thread, a tidier cable routing and a UDH compatible derailleur mount for those who want to use Sram drivetrains.

Another feature of the Áspero is certainly its improved aerodynamics. Performance from this point of view is not so much about speed as an end in itself as it is about energy savings, achieved thanks to the reduction of resistanceSaving watts translates into a power gain that is expressed effectively and measurably.
In addition to the reduction of aerodynamic drag, they have been lowered the seat stays to give a little more grip to the rear and slightly reduced front-end stiffness to make for even more transverse comfort. A little more mud clearance has been created between the lowered seatstays, capitalizing on what we learned from the R5-CX (and the 2023 Unbound Mudfest). These are many seemingly small improvements, but they add up to tangible benefits. The result is a bike that looks a lot like the original Áspero, but is actually faster, more comfortable and more versatile.

The Áspero shares the same bearing dimensions as the R5, Soloist, R5-CX, and Caledonia, meaning any headset and stem combination can be used.
