Carbohydrates are the “good” fuel that our engine needs to move, perform and have energy always available. The supplements of carbohydrates Cetilar® Nutrition They are available in various forms: products that are designed to be technical and of excellent quality, available and easy to use for different types of users.
We tried using and combining two supplements from different categories. Race Carb, or powdered carbohydrates to dissolve in the water bottle and the two Energy Race bars and Race Bar.

Carbohydrates in powder and bars
Certainly Race Carb is the most technical supplement of the three used. It has a very high carbohydrate content in a single bag (about 80 grams, a lot). It is a real support for physical activity and effort, capable of supporting during specific training, competition, a valid help even in the immediate pre-race period. Dissolved in 650 milliliters of water it gives rise to a isotonic drink with a ratio of 1:0,8 between maltodextrin and fructose. Each 80 gram dose provides 310 kcal and supports 1314 kilojoules.
Race Bar and Energy Bar They are two energy bars (solid supplements) first of all, but different from each other. The first provides energy thanks to the balance between time-release carbohydrates with an addition of (little) fat, particularly recommended during competitions. Race Bar on the other hand is a 40/30/30 supplement, means it also contains proteins, added to carbohydrates and fatsIt is a sort of "all-round" bar, indicated before and after exercise, useful during the activity when the intensities remain at medium/low levels. A perfect bar to consume when you have a “distance” training.

The perfect liquid supplement
Quasi 80 grams of carbohydrates in a single bagFor those who are used to and have trained their digestion to introduce such a quantity (or more) into the body, Race Carb è the ideal carbohydrate supplement. It provides a lot of energy, supports work and kilojoules of training and it is not at all invasive and excessive in terms of taste. It does not stimulate salivation (a non-trivial aspect also linked to a recall of liquids which could be counterproductive). Furthermore, it does not conflict with the possible addition of gel and/or a solid supplement, such as bars. At the same time, it is a highly technical carbohydrate supplement And this very aspect requires caution when approaching this category of supplements. A supplement of this kind it must be tried and correctly interpreted, to be used exploiting its potential in the right way.
It is able to support 1.314 kilojoules of training, a reference that must be adequate to one's performance values. This same number gives a very good idea of the support that offers a single envelope (and consequently a bottle with Race Carb). Translation: it's possible to do an hour of intense training and interval training without consuming (or almost no) other supplements. With two bottles, we have no difficulty tackling 120 minutes of training in Z2 with peaks of work in Z3, and then begin to supplement more consistently, adding further building blocks to our athletic condition. Or, it's possible to start drinking Race Carb before the effort intense. It maintains our energy is constant facilitating assimilation. It is a mix of carbohydrates that is particularly useful towards the end of the race.

Energy Race Bar
More than a bar, the taste and consistency are pleasant, it's like a snack (one of the good, quality ones). Energy Race it's good, rewarding, satisfies the palate and sent to drink (a factor not secondary when consuming solid food during exercise). It is a sort of compressed “brick” of puffed rice, easy to break and dissolve in the mouth, even without chewing. This aspect is not trivial, because the bar melts in your mouth.
In 50 grams of product contain 40 grams of carbohydrates, just one gram of protein and 3 grams of fat. We could categorize Energy Race as the iconic pre-race bar (for those who like to eat solids in the 20-40 minutes before the race/workout). Or the bar to be consumed in the first two hours of activity, leaving the remaining two to a liquid supplement (and an increased intensity). During our test we also tried a sort of extremization (tackling consecutive blocks of high intensity) combining the bar with Race Carb in the water bottleThe (subjective) result was excellent, with constant energy availability, perfect assimilation, and zero discomfort from the large amount of carbohydrates consumed. 40 grams of carbohydrates in a bar is a tolerable amount from any type of user.

Coconut Flavored Race Bar
Race Bar It's a bar that we liked to define as "damn good." Regardless of the time of day, whether before, during, or after cycling, but also away from training, Race Bar is always good. For us it has become a sort of hunger-busting snack to pair with coffeeConsumed during training, it is a good reference point.
A 60 gram bar contains 19 grams of protein and 24 grams of carbohydrates. It is not one of those supplements to consume when you enter the aerobic and anaerobic zoneIt's not one of those bars to be consumed when doing repetitions in Z4 and Z5 (and beyond). If carried in your pockets it is to eat when doing long workouts, the intensities remain low and the hunger stimulus is not conditioned by extreme effort. Compared to Energy Bar, the Race bar needs to be chewed and the stimulus to salivation is significantly lower. When eating a bar of this category it is very important to drink, limiting the intake of real carbohydratesThe combination could lengthen the digestive process and optimal assimilation. Energy Bar and Race Bar They are two tasty and always pleasant bars, suitable for different types of users, from the competitive cyclist to the enthusiast who interprets cycling in a more simple way.
