It is studied and perfected

«Focusing on the production of custom technical garments, The user groups to be satisfied are diverse, and each has its own requests, all valid. And each deserves 1000% credit. It's our job direct the customer towards a collection that best suits his needs, but the main goal is to provide answers, first verbal and then on the practical side, creating collections in parallel with the customer». With this quote Giacomo Regoli of On Sportwear opens the doors of the summer collection for us.

Race cut, 4 different fabrics

In front there is a fabric that is a real paneling, divided by the zip that runs across the entire shirt. The fabric is a sort of micro-perforated, close-fitting, aerodynamic and ventilated. The micro-holes allow air to enter constantly, but without negatively affecting the aerodynamics of the garment.

The sideband is a network that resembles a honeycomb, almost impalpable and transparent. The main focus is on air exchange, in a part of the body that tends to accumulate heat. The structure of the fabric is not sagging, despite its reduced thickness.

And then there is the rear, which constantly changes thickness Thanks to the small rhomboidal depressions, it provides a perfect fit regardless of your riding position and limits sweat accumulation, with or without a base layer.

Elasticated bottom and deep pockets

The waist of the shirt is elastic and has small points of gripper material. It tends to stiffen and strengthen the mesh, making it very close to the body, especially during the low grip phases on the handlebars. The jersey never flutters even at high speeds.

And then there are those deep pockets, a great thing, useful detail when you are tackling long rides and your pockets need to be filled.

Finally sleeves that almost completely cover the arm, with a sharp cut and markedly aerodynamic. They are built thanks to a “full fabric”, where theElasticity and grip play the main role. They adapt best once you pedal, adapting to the movements of the body. They have small, obliquely placed gripping inserts that prevent curling.

Race and endurance bib shorts

This one from On Sportwear is a bibshort with suspenders, markedly fitting and with aplenty of thigh coverage. It takes shape thanks to three fabrics that match each other and are applied in a specific way in the appropriate areas.

On the leg it is smoother and more elastic, to adapt to the shape of the body and adhere perfectly. The bottom of the leg is raw cut, modern, with a dense and light dotted pattern, grippy, but which does not accumulate heat and does not mark the skin even after many hours of use.

The central part, the one under the seat pad and the abdominal section are more supported, they also have a greater roughness. This is no coincidence and has a positive impact on stability when pedaling.

Furthermore tThe entire abdominal band has a hem as a finishing touch which confirms the care taken in the artisanal quality production. Finally, the sling, having a thin, breathable mesh on the back, more structured and with a “strong” elastic at the front. In this area they are sewn to the outside of the abdominal panel, in order to increase the stability of the head.

Paris family case back

IThe pad used is a significant added value and a benchmark in its category. It is produced by Elastic Interface, a 100% Made in Italy company that also offers very precise instructions on how to optimally position the case back. It's from the Paris family, high quality and also suitable for use for various needs. Its interior has a double density, differentiated and able to cover curved or flat saddles. The front and upper part is more relieved.

In conclusion

This line of On Sportwear's customizable technical garments are developed with a rather marked race-oriented concept. It's not just a matter of fit, but also of a material pool designed to offer the best in terms of reduced weight, thermoregulation and aerodynamics.

They are sturdy and well-finished garments, Because the constructive quality, the stitching and the details are very high, but special attention is mandatory, especially in the washing and drying phases. An correct garment management, allows them to to be long-lived and to perform at their best even in the medium and long term.
