GIRONA (Spain) – Seven months ahead of its launch, and a presentation in the land that in recent years has been attracting more and more cyclists from all over the world. The exclusive test we had the opportunity to participate in, organized by Castelli on the same days as the gravel race Holy Valley, allowed us to discover and admire the new Perfetto RoS 3 JacketA product made with the new Polartec AirCore fabric, capable of surprising for its ability to protect from the cold but at the same time guarantee perfect air exchangeThis way, heat buildup is avoided even at times of maximum effort.

Innovative, revolutionary, or simply surprising, the new Perfetto RoS 3 is a jacket capable of offering a technical innovation never seen beforeA garment that is best used in a temperature range of 4 to 14 degrees Celsius. In the cold season, a difference of 10 degrees Celsius makes the difference between a cold day and one where the sun's heat begins to warm the skin.

Rain or Shine

This is the acronym RoS in the name of the new jacket presented by Castelli. But the real revolution is in the Polartec AirCore fabric, capable of taking the concept of breathability to the next level.. Castelli and Polartec worked together to create AirCore, in a long challenge that led to the union of: lightness, breathability, wind resistance and water repellencyThe result is a jacket that can withstand any weather condition and can accompany the cyclist throughout the winter and beyond.

The result is the Perfetto RoS 3 Jacket: ideal in dry conditions as well as in the rain, with temperatures between 4 and 14 degrees centigradeOne jacket, endless possibilities. The new Perfetto RoS 3 Jacket is perfect in all conditions and ushers in a new and important phase for the cycling industry.

Revolution

The membrane used to produce the new Perfetto RoS 3 jacket is made using a process called electrospinning, in which a hydrophobic polymer is pushed through a needle. This gives rise to microscopic filaments that create an extremely compact membrane., but which allows air to pass through.

When designing cycling clothing for use during the cold season, the focus has always been on waterproofness. An important factor, certainly, but one that often fails to coincide with breathabilityThis often leads to a buildup of heat and, consequently, sweat, which leaves a damp feeling on the skin and causes a cold sensation when it dries.

The AirCore structure of this new designer jacket Castelli exploits a different approach that is based on moving sweat away from the cyclist's bodyThis creates a microclimate that keeps the user's body temperature stable.

Data from the laboratory

Repeatedly tested, both by athletes and in the lab, Polartec AirCore fabric combines the benefits of windproof and water-repellent properties. It has been designed to let a minimal and imperceptible amount of air pass through which absorbs the humidity of sweat and transports it to the outside of the garment., offering a level of dryness unimaginable for a membrane jacket.

The tests carried out highlight the properties of the Perfetto RoS 3 jacket. The most important are those concerning air permeability and water vapor transmission. The first is equal to 0,7 cubic feet per minute, and is significantly higher than other fabrics used on winter jackets that have this value equal to zero.

AirCore is also a fabric with good waterproofing values, with a hydrostatic pressure resistance rating of 5.000 millimetres.

Price: 249,95 euro.
