FRANKFURT – Titici Alfa It is first of all the new aerodynamic bicycle of the Italian brand, but it is also a new way on the part of Titici to interpret the bike. The same company that has always focused (and will continue to do so) on "made to measure" and carbon bicycles built using the wrapping technique, but thanks to Alfa it borders on the monocoque category.
The Alfa model becomes an alternative for those who want a product made of carbon, but monocoque, racing without compromise, with decisive and modern shapes. Alfa is a bike dedicated to those who want a competitive product and are willing to give up the exclusivity of the "custom" one, despite having a bike hors categories.
The new PAT10 patent
One of the cornerstones of all Titici productions it's that thin horizontal tube, or the PAT patent (acronym for Plate Absorber Technology)Over the years it has evolved, but has maintained that unique aesthetic impact, an important contribution to the elegance of the bicycle, but also a “active” technical solution in Titici’s performances.
PAT10 is the latest evolution of the tapered top tube, tailored to the needs of the new Alfa and which will also see theUCI approvalA very important factor, not to be overlooked even with a view to future sponsorships (regardless of the category).
The PAT10 horizontal tube has a thickness of 10 millimetres, is particularly efficient in terms of aerodynamics and is capable of absorbing 18% more vibrations than a traditional profile, to the full advantage of comfort and stability.
What does Alfa look like?
It's an aero bike through and through, it does nothing to hide this characteristic. Starting from the front end you notice the fork with laterally voluminous blades and a limited frontal impactThe fork crown is clean, not completely round and does not show any fins towards the rear, zero bulk and a lot of harmony in the shapes. Near the wheel passage it has two sidecuts, two internal depressions towards the tyre. It fits well with the steering profile, massive, wide and flared in the centre, with a conspicuous upper rib that follows the line of a particularly structured horizontal in this area. The headset is ACR in nature.
The down tube has a rounded surface facing the space, while the internal surface is truncated. There are three slots for the bottle cage screws, which can find two different positions, one of the two lowered (the aerodynamics will thank you). The profiles adopt a NACA development.
DAC and AFT technologies
They appear for the first time and are protagonists in Titici Alfa. DAC is an acronym for double air channel. and identifies the desire to "detach" the two obliques from the column, going beyond the standards. AFT instead refers to the small spoiler (very thin) that joins the obliques at a lower point.
The small triangle that is generated in this section of the bicycle is very complex in its development, because it aims to combine rigidity, support and aerodynamics and the various tubes involved also contribute to comfort and stability.
The column shows a reinforcement in the internal parta (where it connects to the horizontal), with a line that follows the tangent of the obliques, but also to contain the seat post block. The seat-post is specific for Alfa (always with drawing NACA). The seat stays of the carriage are asymmetrical.
