Van Rysel is pushing hard on the accelerator, the one dedicated to the renewal and significant development of the range. After the bikes supplied to the Decathlon-AG2r La Mondiale Team (category RCR), the new endurance is also coming.

EDR CF Ultra It is dedicated to lovers of long and very long distances, to lovers of comfort and it also hints at a light off-road concept. Let's take a closer look.

Pay particular attention to weight

The frame of the new EDR CF Ultra is all carbon and uses monocoque technology. fiber is of HM (high modulus) matrix, with a (declared) value on the scale 830 grams in the medium size. It's a really good weight, especially considering an endurance category.

Returning to the composite fibre, for the EDR CF Ultra a specific layup, capable of combining robustness, reactivity and, indeed, a truly interesting weight. The fork is also completely made of carbon.

Details to keep in mind

EDR CF Ultra positions itself as a new platform, not a simple evolution. They can be mounted covers up to 38 mm in section and is compatible with mudguards. The new Van Rysel has three anchoring points for as many bottle cages.

La the steering area was designed in collaboration with Deda and there is the possibility of also mounting integrated aero cockpits (they are not foreseen in the catalogue set-ups, but the specifications allow for their assembly). Last but not least, it is possible to mount a front light with the cable running inside the fork leg and attaching to the hub/dynamo developed in collaboration with DT Swiss.

Setups and sizes

The Van Rysel EDR CF Ultra is available in three different trim levels. The first is LTD Force AXS which, intuitively, is based on the new Sram Force AXS 2×12 transmission and brings with it the Swiss Side Hadron Allroad wheels with hub/dynamo. The list price is 5.099 euros. In the scale of values ​​there is then the EDR CF Ultra with the Shimano Ultegra drivetrain. The list price is 4.899 € and the assembly includes the Swiss Side Hadron Allroad 350 wheels (350 refers to the hub category, which is based on DT Swiss). Finally the assembly which is based on the package Shimano 105 Di2, with Van Rysel VR35 wheels (with carbon rims). This version has a very good quality/price ratio, 3.499 €.

There are 5 sizes in the catalogue, from XS to XL. All of them have a rather high stack, in pure endurance style, and a generous wheelbase, a factor that allows for notable stability even on dirt roads. All sizes have the same 45mm fork rake and the length (425mm) of the rear triangle.
